Knitculture Studio Club

June 11, 2012 by Kirsten 4 Comments

Thank you all for your kind words about Bivalve. I look forward to seeing some of your interpretations of the pattern on Ravelry.

Life has been a little crazy for the past few weeks. On top of the Mystery Shawl KAL, S & I graduate from high school next week, and we are in the process of moving ourselves into NYC full time. (We've been living a double life for the last 6 months, splitting our time between NYC and our little NJ town.) Since mid-May I've spent most of my time either driving, attending end of the school year events & awards presentations or packing. To keep my sanity I have managed to squeeze in a bit of knitting & design work.

Leftovers

One design project that I'm really excited about is a shawl I created for the Knitculture Studio Club. Designing for the nice folks at Knitculture was wonderful. They let me choose from among some of my favorite yarn lines for the project, and they are the sort who go out of thier way to support indie yarn companies and designers. Other contributors to the club are Alex Tinsley & Anne Kuo Lukito, both very talented designers – and we are all using really special yarns for the club designs. The photo at the top of the page shows a wee ball of the Alchemy yarn that I used for the design. Alchemy kills me with the depth of color they get on their yarns. Scrumptious. I hope you'll be as excited as I am about this yarn club.

I'll be back next week with a few photos of my girls in their caps & gowns. Until then, go show the good people at Knitculture some love. Yarn stores who support indie businesses rock!

PS. Who's going to TNNA? I'm going for the first time and am really looking forward to it.
