Don’t forget to post your finished socks!

For all of you who participated in the Through the Loops Mystery Sock KAL, don’t forget to post photos of your finished socks in the TTL forum on Ravelry. The correct thread is here.

You must have a photo of your finished socks in that thread to be entered in the contest which ends tonight at midnight EST. A number of people have sent messages to me asking how to post photos in the forums on Ravelry. Being not the most tech savvy myself, I’m really not the best person to ask this question of. But if you search the forums, even within the Through the Loops group itself, you will find quality instructions.

Thanks to everyone who participated and made this year’s KAL so much fun.  Also a huge “thank you” to those who generously donated prizes, Sandra Singh, Laura Nelkin for Schaefer, Bad Amy, & Wendee of Hazel Knits.

Katinka

Katinka Green 2

Thank you to everyone for your kind words about my Wood Hollow Vest. The pattern is written and has been sent to test knitters.

Katinka 2

Katinka Green Buttons

I wish I could say what inspired these mitts. But I really don't know. I do know I was itching to use the Brooks Farm Solo Silk that I'd gotten at MDS&W last May. The stitch patterns all just seemed right for the yarn. I suppose I was also yearning for an excuse to use some of the that I own.

Palm Side

The Katinka Mitts are worked sideways and have functional buttons along the outside edge of the hand. For ease of knitting I have included both charts and written instructions for the stitch patterns. There are two sizes given. The larger size is worked in sport weight, the smaller size is worked in fingering.

Old, Old WIPs

November 19, 2009 by Kirsten 30 Comments

Thanks to the inspiring folks who are participating in Vestvember I pulled out a very old WIP and finished it. Today was a good day to finish this vest since it also happens to be green day in in full bloom, my mothers quilts, cats and of course friends and family. Outside the house was surrounded by beautiful gardens. Whenever I went to visit, I would arrive to find both of my parents working in the garden. Inside there was often an apple pie waiting. This cozy green vest would fit right in on Wood Hollow Road.

Wood Hollow Vest

I'm in the process of writing the pattern. I can't say how long it will take before it is ready for publication. But hopefully not too long.

Wood Hollow Vest 4

The yarn is Cascade 220 worked on US 5 & 6 needles.
